Canfield Lake is located in Filer Township in Manistee County. One of the things I like about Canfield Lake is that it is close to everything.  It is located two miles south of Manistee, 1 mile west of US31, 2 miles east of the Lake Michigan shoreline.

Portage Lake is located in Onekama Township, Manistee County. This wonderful Michigan lake of 2,164 acres of surface waters, with a reported depth of 60 feet, forms the shoreline to the quaint village of Onekama. Onekama is thought to mean “Land of Great Beauty”. What an  appropriate name for this beautiful area!

Arcadia Lake

In the northwestern corner of Manistee County lies this often overlooked Michigan lake, Arcadia Lake located on the edge of Arcadia.  Arcadia lies on the Lake Michigan shoreline and is home to several well known West Michigan destinations. Manistee National Forest

The Manistee National Forest extends over several Michigan counties: Lake, Manistee, Mason, Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana and Wexford. The majority of  Newaygo County also lies within its district.
There is something for everyone including hiking trails (48 miles) and camping, horseback trails (35 miles) and ski trails, snowmobile trails (50 miles) and ATV trails (19 miles).
