“I am wearing my overalls. Please send card in return.” Sent from Augusta MI May 23 1908
I always find the messages on postcards interesting. Some message are pretty generic, but every once and awhile you find one like this and have questions. Why was it important for the recipient to know the writer was wearing the overalls, and why was it important to get a card in return? I guess we will never have the answer to that.
Most of the time I know the location of the picture on the card, but on this one I don’t. I have no idea where Base Lake is located. It is interesting the gentleman sitting inside his boat, quite relaxed, alone and still moored to the dock.
That’s a great post card! Base Lake (proper name Baseline Lake) is on the Portage chain of lakes, the South side being Dexter mailing addresses and Washtenaw County and the North side is Pinckney mailing and Livingston County. Thanks for sharing.
Nick,
Thanks for the help.
