Blue Lake is located in Blue Lake Township, Muskegon County. Blue Lake consists of an estimated 600 acres of surface waters.
Blue Lake is home to the Blue Lake County Park, a twenty five acre park with 600 feet of frontage on the lake. You will find a sandy beach, camping, and plenty of room for a picnic. On the north side of the lake, you will find a smaller site, Deremo County Launch for a hard surface boat launch.
Also the north shore of Blue Lake is Pioneer Trails, a 50 acre camp that is a barrier free camp for special needs children of West Michigan.
The south shore of the lake is undeveloped, as it is home to Owasippe Boy Scott Camp, a series of Boy Scout camps encompassing thousands of acres of woods and frontagr on several other West Michigan lakes.
When one thinks of Blue Lake and the Muskegon Area, you may think of Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, which is on nearby Little Blue Lake, although it is not really little with its estimated 300 areas of surface waters.
Spring is here and it is time to enjoy a Michigan lake.
