Lake Sapphire

Lake Sapphire is located in western Missaukee County, just outside of Lake City. This Michigan Lake of 264 acres of surface waters has reported depths of up to 8 feet. Lake Sapphire is largely developed with a mix of seasonal cottages and year round homes.
Lake Sapphire is dwarfed in size by two neighboring lakes. Nearby Crooked Lake has more than 400 acres of surface waters and Lake Missaukee has 2034 acres. Missaukee County boasts over 4800 acres of Michigan lake water and Lake Sapphire and its neighbors make up over half of this number.
The fishermen report these lakes have bass, crappie, northern pike, pan fish, perch and walleye. These three lakes are typical of Northern Michigan lakes, surrounded by a nice mix of pine and hardwoods. A joy to see in the fall.
