Campau Lake, along with the connecting Kettle Lake, boasts 125 acres of surface of water with reported depths of up to fifty feet.
This Michigan lake is home to mainly year round residents. Recently the area was improved by construction of a municipal sewer system.
The Michigan DNR maintains a small public boat launch off McCords Avenue, on the eastern side of the lake. There is plenty of parking , a hard surface boat launch and restrooms.
Warm summer weekends finds this lake busy with boaters, swimmers and skiers.
P.S. Happy Log Cabin Day!
On December 9, 1986, the Michigan Legislature passed a resolution proclaiming Log Cabin Day on June 28, 1987 for the Sesquicentennial.
Later, they passed a bill to make Log Cabin Day annual, signed by Gov. James J. Blanchard on June 15, 1989. As recorded in the Statutes of Michigan: “The last Sunday of June of each year shall be known as ‘Log Cabin Day.
